Tempo Arts is a professional arts organisation formed in 2001 and
based in the South East region.

Directors

Saffron Summerfield

Saffron Summerfield is a singer/composer and audio-visual artist.
She plays guitar,cuatro, bouzouki and keyboards and blends found
sound into her recorded work. Her music and songs have been used
in film,television and radio and she has toured as a performer in the
UK and overseas. Saffron set up Tempo Arts with Phyllida Shaw in
London 2001 as a vehicle to collaborate with other artists and
deliver high quality arts provision to all sections of the community.

and true connection among individuals,families and communities".

Christine Gist

Christine Gist currently divides her time between Deal, Kent and
Hastings, East Sussex. She lived in the USA for many years,
receiving a BFA in sculpture from the University of Washington,
Seattle and an MFA in sculpture from Yale University School of Art,
New Haven. She is a practising artist, curator and visual arts
consultant with extensive experience of working with artists, public
agencies and private institutions across the South East region and
mainland Europe.

Heidi Foster

Heidi Foster became a Tempo Arts Director four years ago when she
moved to Rye. Her artistic perspective and personal interests,
including playing the flute in a small orchestra, drawing, creating
mosaics and singing in a choir, gives her an understanding of Tempo
Arts goals. Heidi worked with Saffron on two local digital film making
projects - 'This is our Village' - an intergenerational film made with
residents of Rye Harbour village, and ' a Day in the Life of ARRCC' -
a film depicting the work of an arts rehabilitation centre. Heidi is
Treasurer/Director of Tempo Arts.
