A website doesn't have to be expensive or difficult to maintain. It does, however, need careful planning so that you have a clear message and are able to measure success. Choose a good domain name (web address - see Buying a Domain Choose a good web host. There are a range of web hosts who offer excellent services for around £5 per month. For that price, you can expect to have a free domain included (web address), 300 email addresses, web statistics to see who is visiting your site, picture galleries and forms. See Choosing a Web Host guide Decide whether you will design the site (with training) or brief a web designer. If you plan to use a web designer, make sure that you prepare a clear design brief and discuss how you will update the site. Will you be able to update it, or will you have to pay for updates? Remember that a good website needs to be updated frequently. Web Training. If you plan to design the site yourself, consider choosing an easy low cost web editing package.
